Yes, we have rules.
Yes, they will be enforced.
1) Minimal Profanity.
While I understand that profanity might be a normal thing to use around here, I can't control the traffic on this website. Profanity is allowed, but excessive and unnecessary cursing is frowned upon.
2)No Pornography or Excessive Violence.
Pornography here is the posting of pictures or artwork depicting nudity (except certain artistic depictions, check with a mod/admin) or sexual acts. Excessive violence is considered to be pictures and/or videos that contain real or realistic use of excessive gore and which may be considered to be far outside commonly accepted rules of decency and would be unsuitable for minors.
3) Be respectful.
Of course, the clans can have their rivalries. Of course, some amount of banter is acceptable. However, there is a very fine line between friendly banter and spiteful insults. I don't want to see any character-bashing or other such things here. This website is for a community to gather and have fun. It is not for a bunch of troublemakers to come and, as the title suggests, start trouble.
4) No Spamming.
Spamming includes, but is not limited to, nonsense posts and posts that are commercial in nature. Of course, fun here and there is good for the forums, but we DON'T want threads straying too far from the original topic. However, threads dedicated to humorous posts are allowed.
5)No Hate Speech.
The advocating of genocide or active discrimination of a particular race or religion, or any such thing, is not allowed. We will allow many unconventional and unpopular opinions to be discussed here. but NOT to the point where one could be considered to be hate-mongering. An example of this would be the proposition to nuke Mecca, Moscow, Washington D.C, the Vatican, London, or Beijing. If you discuss topics bordering on hate speech you will be expected to have solid and factual reasoning to back up your opinions. Otherwise, prepare to meet the Banhammer.
6) No Trolling.
Trolling specifically refers to posts made which are unreasonably provocative. These include hit-and-run posts (where a person would drop a highly provocative and possibly inflammatory post and leave a thread entirely). Trolling is frustrating for other board users and if a moderator regards you to be a persistent perpetrator you will be punished.
7) This is not a chan.
This website is not a chan, so do not act as if it is. Habitual use of chan-like behavior will lead to punishment. Chan-like behavior includes, but is in no way limited to, the following:
- The Excessive use of chan-speak, in particular the addition of "fag" to the end of a descriptor (e.g. newfag). Don't think you can hide it, either. Attempts to hide chan-speak (e.g. newfa..., newfan) will be noticed.
- Excessive use of memes, image macros and/or motivators outside of areas which are deemed to be acceptable (threads which were made specifically for the posting of such materials).
- Habitual posting of highly inflammatory opinions (particularly focusing on highly misogynistic, racist and/or xenophobic comments).
- Posting of material which is of a highly offensive nature (excessive discussion and/or description of such materials will also be punished).
- Excessive discussion of 4chan, anonymous and other related concepts. Exceptions will be allowed in the case of discussion of news events or documentaries focusing on these topics, but must be limited to the matters addressed therein.
- Rickrolling. No. Please. Just, no.
NOTE: The definition of excessive (in the above) is entirely at the discretion of the admins.
